Dr. Xue was born and raised in Coppell, Texas, the first of his family to be born outside of China. He graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014, earned his Doctorate of Optometry with highest honors from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2018, and obtained certification as a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist soon thereafter. During his training he completed rotations in ocular disease at the Cedar Springs Eye Clinic and in primary optometric care at the Eye Doctor’s Office and Eye Gallery, both located in Dallas. He is also a member of the Texas Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. Dr. Xue specializes in the management of acute and chronic ocular disease, and his clinical interests include retinal pathology, glaucoma, and diabetic eye care. He strongly believes in team-based medicine involving healthcare practitioners from all fields to ensure that each patient is cared for as a whole, and enjoys educating patients on how clinical signs in the eyes may relate to health in the rest of the body.
In his free time, he enjoys rooting on local Dallas sports teams, reading and translating Japanese comics, and spending time with family.
